Ahoy Land Lubbers !!!!!

Welcome to our brand new home on the web  http://gu-10.co.uk .

Many thanks to Janice – a friendly wench we’ve befriended, who knows a fair bit about the interweb, and has helped the cabinboy beyond belief in his quest to keep everyone abreast of the crew’s movements.

Pop along to the Ship’s Voyage section of the site, where you’ll find some great news about our fundraising concert for the RNLI, and a few more ramblings too !!!

Got to go and feed the ship’s cat – so catch you soon…..

The Cabinboy.

Is it really 2010 already ??  And the Captain has only just got accustomed to being naughty – sorry, in the noughties !!!

It’s been a while since we found a piece of parchment to scrawl down some random jottings in the Captain’s Log, and now we’ve hit calmer waters I can actually hold the quill steady enough to write proper, eh !!

Take a look in the Ships Voyage section of the site, and you’ll see that we have plans to sail afar this year – well at least to Sark and Falmouth !

We’re also fulfilling a long held ambition, to put on a concert in the splendid St James Concert Hall here in Guernsey, and joined by some of our musically talented friends, we hope to raise some funds for the local lifeboat station.

Oh dear – better run – the Captain’s practising walking the plank himself again – he’ll be the ruin of us all…..

Catch you soon shipmates !

The Cabinboy.

Hello again Land’lubbers……..

GU-10 Sea Shanties and Songs of the Sea

2009 has crept up upon us and YES we’re STILL here !!!!  When you stop to think that we only got together for (in the Capt’n's words) a handful of gigs for SeaGuernsey in 2005, it seems we just didn’t know when to stop…….

We’re all set to get up to no good once again – and already rehearsing (yes we DO rehearse – honest!) some new material.  John is still making good rhythm with his cajun drum (looks like a wooden crate to me), and Neil is making rude noises with what he claims is a didgeridoo and whips his mouth organ (sorry – harmonica) out with great regularity !!!!!!

As for our adventures, well we’re sticking to local waters for the summer – maybe heading further afield in 2010 – watch this space!).  You may rememmber that at the beginning of last year Fraser walked the plank (!) and Martin gathered his worldly possessions to join us – well we are now 11 !!!!!!!!   Nick Dove joins the merry band – and brings his rather full book of shanties with him too.

Gotta go – the ship’s cat needs feedin’ – and you don’t want to upset the ship’s cat…………..
