GU10 – Songs of The Sea

2006 promises to be another great year for the crew of GU10.
While ‘at anchor’ over the winter months, the Captain and Crew have been hard at work, preparing for a 2006 voyage of discovery. New songs, new equipment, and a sponsorship deal have all been worked on – ringing the changes, and giving audiences a fresh and invigorated experience to come along and hear.

As well as some more ‘standards’ for the 2006 season, we’ve also included some challenging material – with a shanty in french, and a few songs we’ve adapted to suit a local audience – listen out for some subtle changes in the lyrics !!!!!!

One of the songs, “Coming Home” is somewhat of a milestone for the band. Written and arranged by Richard Collas, it tells the tale of a team of fishermen, and their love for the job and the sea. It’s hoped that this will be the first of a number of original songs from the band – so keep an ear out throughout the year…….
