The Gulls of Invergordon

Jul-16-2010 By gu10WP

In Invergordan by the Sea
They’ve built a new distillery,
And all the gulls are on the spree,
That live in Invergordon.
The mash that’s flowing from the still,
They gobble down wi’ right good will,
And every gull can hold his gill,
That live in Invergordon.

Dirumadoo-a-dirumaday,
Dirumadoo-a-daddy-o,
Dirumadoo-a-dirumaday,
The gulls of Invergordon.

A Glasca gull came from the Clyde,
In Invergordon to reside,
He got himself half stupified,
Wi’ the gulls o’ Invergordon.
And then he found to his surprise,
That he was hardly fit to rise,
And flying kind of side-a-wise,
When he left Invergordon.

Dirumadoo-a-dirumaday,
Dirumadoo-a-daddy-o,
Dirumadoo-a-dirumaday,
The gulls of Invergordon.

Now when we die some people say,
We come back in some other way,
Oh, how I’d like to come and stay,
As a gull from Invergordon.
Dirumadoo-a-dirumaday,
reincarnation would be gay,
A kind of perpetual Hogmany,
Wi’ the gulls of Invergordon.

Dirumadoo-a-dirumaday,
Dirumadoo-a-daddy-o,
Dirumadoo-a-dirumaday,
The gulls of Invergordon.
